Campbellford Fair Vintage Tractor Pulling Rules- 2026

The following pulling rules have been developed in the interest of preserving and displaying antique tractors. It is anticipated that all persons participating in pulling events will accept these rules for this purpose and in the spirit in which they were intended. General rules may change at the discretion of the sled operator as deemed necessary.

1. Vintage Tractors must be of a model/series that was manufactured in 1959 or prior. (It is recognized that certain 1960 tractors had been allowed to pull previously, and they will have grandfathered status.

2. History of the tractor is to be provided for the announcer

3. Tractor is to pull in one class only, with the winner’s option of pulling in a weight class heavier.

4. First puller of a class (except in a pull-off) has the option to re-pull. The decision to do so must be made prior to unhooking from the sled and the puller will re-pull in 2^ndor 3^rd position.

5. No front wheel lifting.

6. During hook-up, tractor must be in neutral, and driver’s hands and feet must be off the controls.

7. Hook person must stand behind the stop plate to hook the tractor.

8. Track width is 16 feet.

9. Puller must be available prior to the pull.

10. Absolutely no jerking of the sled at start of the pull.

11. Pull has 25 feet to restart.

12. Torque amplifiers, multi-power or hi-low shifters may not be shifted while pulling is in progress.

13. Tractors may not exceed a designated maximum speed limit. (currently 4.5 MPH but this may be changed if the conditions justify it). The first time the horn blows is a warning, and the second time is the end of the pull, distance determined at this point.

14. No association with drugs or alcohol will be permitted or tolerated.

15. No passengers allowed on the tractor.

16. Drivers must remain seated at all times during the pull.

17. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age. If under 18 years of age, written authorization of a parent or legal guardian is required.

18. Tractor must be field stock (not modified in any way). This includes having the proper and complete front-end assemblies and fenders (if originally was equipped with fenders).

19. Vintage Tractor tires may be “loaded”, and wheel weights are allowed but not suitcase weights.

20. No string attached to the governor or carburetor.

21. Maximum tire size allowed is 38” diameter. Only rubber tires are allowed. The use of radial tires as well as any cut tires is discouraged, as they are not consistent with antique tractors.

22. Tractors are required to have Drawbars. Drawbar hook point is maximum 20” in height from ground and minimum length of 30” from middle of rear axle.

23. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL PULLERS

Non Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull

Registration and Weigh-In begins at 5:30 PM

There will be a draw from a hat for pulling order. Participants must be 16 years of age.

Hook Fee $10 per truck/tractor

The Executioner Sled team will no longer supply hitches for any class. It will be up to the puller to have a hitch. “No hitch no pull”.

CONTEST RULES:

1. Number one puller will be the test puller and may take pull if weight of machine is ok, or he may pull in third position. If weight of machine needs further adjustment, first puller after each adjustment will be treated as number one puller.
2. All decisions on re-pulls must be made before tractor in question is unhooked from sled. On any re-pull caused by a contest malfunction, puller at this point (by choice) may drop back three positions. Any disqualifications on first attempt, bars a second attempt.
3. If presiding judge is notified of a tractor with mechanical problems, he may droop contestant three positions. This may be done only once per contestant per class.
4. All pulls must start with a tight hitch. Each contestant will be allowed two attempts to make a measurable pull. An attempt is defined as moving the sled a measurable distance (one inch or further). If the driver lets off on the throttle before going 100 feet on the first attempt, a second attempt will be granted, even if the vehicle rolls beyond the 100ft mark. If no attempt is made to back off the throttle a 2^nd attempt will not be granted.
5. There will be no test pulls in pull-offs.
6. A pulling vehicle may compete in 2 classes ONLY. Only the #1 puller in the previous weight class may move up.
7. All contestants pull at own risk.
8. Contest to be governed by judges with all decision’s final. Judges have the right to stop and disqualify any vehicle if it is being operated in a manner considered unsafe.
9. Officials have the right to inspect vehicles and serial numbers at random and upon request.
10. All contestants must wear a helmet or WILL NOT PULL IN ANY CLASS.
11. Invitational Tri Axel dump trucks MUST have a working pintle hitch and the dump box must be empty, or they will be disqualified and unable to pull.

GENERAL RULES FOR OPEN TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL CLASSES:

1. Although this is not a sanctioned pull, all competitors must follow the rules of ONTARIO TRUCK AND TRACTOR ASSOCIATION.
2. No one allowed on track except for track officials and contestants.
3. Scales at end of track. All pulling vehicles must be weighted prior to the competition with the driver seated on or in the vehicle. The maximum weight per class included both the pulling vehicle and the driver.
4. Drivers must be at least 16 years or age. If under 18 years of age, drivers must have parent’s written consent. PROOF OF VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, INSURANCE AND OWNERSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION OF TRUCKS.
5. All pull positions must be drawn not assigned.
6. All spectators must be behind the protective fence.
7. No mixing of classes.
8. Classes in each event will be run in that event but not necessarily in the posted scheduled order.
9. No riders are allowed in or on pulling vehicles while pulling or in the track area.
10. No pulling vehicles are to be left running without an operator in the seat.
11. The contestant must pull at position drawn within 3 minutes of the time the sled is ready. If a puller had a mechanical problem, he must notify the track official before his scheduled hook.
12. The person competing must drive the pulling vehicle onto the track and off. All vehicles should leave the track under their own power, unless broken.
13. Drivers must remain seated at all times during their pull.
14. All vehicles must be in neutral or park while being hitched and unhitched.
15. All pulling vehicles must have working brakes.
16. Hitch point must be visible and clear for sled hook up.
17. Tractors exhaust systems with no mufflers must be pointed away from the crowd.
18. No weights behind the rear axle.
19. Additional rules may be imposed at the time of the truck/tractor pulls if officials deem it necessary.
