President’s Message

President’s Message

Our mission as the Campbellford- Seymour Agricultural Society is to promote a positive image of the agricultural industry, while fostering a sense of community and fellowship, in celebration of our rural heritage.  As we celebrate our 172nd Campbellford Fair this year, we’re certainly grateful for that heritage, and all those wonderful volunteers who came before us and worked so hard to keep these rural traditions alive.

As usual, the fair will offer something for everyone, no matter your age or interests.  We love sharing our agricultural roots, so our Ag Education Centre, Homecraft displays, and livestock shows are what we’re most proud of.  There’s also lots of free family entertainment, including live music on the stage, the Children’s Activity Centre, and an FMX dirt bike trick show performing throughout the weekend!  Last year’s sanctioned truck and tractor pull on Friday night was a big hit, so we’ll be holding it again this year, along with our amazing fireworks display.  Lawnmower races will move to Saturday afternoon and the local truck and tractor pull will move to Saturday night.  The always popular Demolition Derby will move to Sunday afternoon.  That means big excitement every day of the weekend!  Magical Midways will also be back, offering rides and fun for kids of all ages.

None of this would be possible without the support of our many wonderful sponsors, so we owe them a huge thank you.  It also wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers.  Our main initiative each year is, of course, the fair, but it takes a lot of funding to run an event of that magnitude, so we also hold several major fundraisers throughout the year.  Our Board of Directors and volunteers dedicate hours and hours of their time to make all of this happen, so that we can continue to bring the excitement of the Campbellford Fair to our community.

Lastly, we’re so grateful for community support from fine folks like you.  Whether you attend our fundraisers, participate as an exhibitor or just come join in the fun of fair weekend, you are the reason we work so hard to keep this tradition alive.  So, on behalf of the Campbellford Seymour Agricultural Society, we can’t wait to celebrate the 172nd Campbellford Fair with you!

Homecraft President’s Message

On behalf of the Homecraft division of the Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society, I invite you to take part in our Fair’s activities. Our theme this year is “Rural Roots and Rubber Boots.”

The Homecraft division is a dedicated group of individuals who volunteer their time and effort not just during the Fair but all year long. The exhibits featured in the Homecraft building include Junior Works, showcasing the creativity of our youngest exhibitors. Hobbies display an array of crafts inspired by imaginative minds. Needlework highlights the incredible skills of both men and women, with our quilts standing out as some of the finest examples of talent, dedication, and artistry across all fairs. Our Photography section captures breathtaking images—sometimes requiring hours of patience to get the perfect shot. Preserves and Baking feature some of the tastiest entries you can imagine. And, of course, the Vegetable and flowers exhibits celebrate the hard work of growers who rely on their own two hands and a little luck from Mother Nature.

During your fair adventure, be sure to stop by the Food Booth for our famous Chili, Beef on a Bun, and homemade pies. Start your day off right with breakfast on Saturday and Sunday—a Fair tradition you won’t want to miss!

A heartfelt thank you to our many Homecraft sponsors—your support allows us to continue this tradition year after year.

As Homecraft President, I am honoured to represent such a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers. We are a team, and we have a lot of fun! If you’d like to join us and be part of this amazing group, just ask one of our volunteers—they’ll be happy to share all the details. Everyone is welcome.

See you at the Fair!
